◉Why Vietnam?

As Vietnam's population continues to grow, it is said that the total population will exceed 100 million in 2023. Various urban issues have been exposed as super high-rise buildings and giant infrastructure are being constructed one after another. The large number of motorcycles on the roads continues to increase every year, and air pollution and traffic congestion are also being addressed as problems. In addition, a characteristic of major cities in Vietnam is that there is little consolidated greenery. On the other hand, unique green architecture and a thriving creative scene by young people have also been showing vitality by taking advantage of these circumstances.

Since its establishment in spring 2021, for Cities has continued its activities with the desire to become a hub that supports various young practitioners in the fields of architecture, urban planning, and city development in Asian countries. The energy of Asian countries that are just now developing is something that cannot be experienced in Japan, where aging and depopulation are progressing, even though it is in the same Asia. In order to connect diverse Asian cities and envision an alternative urban future, we would like to first hold an urbanist camp in Vietnam, which has recently been receiving attention for its economic growth.

◉Holding the City Festival "for Cities Week 2023"

At the end of this program, we will hold "for Cities Week 2023" in the local area to present the outputs of stay production to the region. Until today, it has been held in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Cairo, and more than 1,000 urbanists have visited.
